The purpose of the Judaic Heritage Center is to advance Jewish continuity by:
- Preserving the history of Jews in the Central New York community and the surrounding area.
- Encouraging the growth of local Jewish culture and providing a variety of services and programs not provided by other Jewish organizations.
- Gathering, collecting, owning, holding, preserving, exhibiting, displaying and making available for study;
artifacts, books,
manuscripts,
photographs,
historical documents,
films,
other recorded materials relating to the history and culture of Jews in CNY.
- Bringing together people that are interested in local Jewish history; encouraging public interest in that history; sponsoring historical meetings, programs, events and exhibits, and issuing publications by utilizing all means of communication.
- Providing assistance to individuals and groups doing research using the materials maintained by the Center, internet resources, or relationships developed by the Center with other Jewish cultural and historic organizations.
